Bournemouth based Drum & Bass maestro, Krakota makes a welcome return to Hospital Records with the release of his brand new, four track strong ‘See For Miles’ EP.
First up we are introduced to the sounds of ‘Hot Rain’ featuring legendary master of ceremonies Dynamite MC after. A crisp stepper which expertly lures you in with it’s soothing, warm pads on the intro before sucker-punching you with a devastating, twisted midrange synth section.
We are presented with a dose of 21 first century disco meets Drum & Bass with ‘Callback’ next, which fuses together the best of both worlds with it’s use of filtered female vocals and rhythmic swells complimented by frenetic, 2-step breaks and an exquisite, undulating bassline.
‘Fever Dreams’ sees spine-tingling guitar licks and luscious synth washes accompany a relentless, stepping breakbeat backbone and pulsating bass notes to deliver a premium quality slice of liquid funk, deftly engineered for delivering both aural and dancefloor satisfaction.
Rounding off the quartet we have the emotive title track, ‘See For Miles’, which employs the use of stirring strings and haunting piano melody underpinned by rapid-fire breaks and enveloping Reese bassline.
For those of you seeking the very best in precision crafted, liquid drum & bass, all your needs will be catered for by Krakota’s latest offering here.
The Breakbeatscientist scores Krakota’s ‘See For Miles’ EP a well deserved 4.5 out of 5, with ‘Fever Dreams’ being the pick of the bunch.
